What’s so special? Special Features; The bean of the Maragogype is on average 30 – 40% bigger than related Arabica beans; it’s ‘Jumbo sized’ and that’s why they call it the ‘Elephant Bean’. The bean has a wide oval shape contrary to other coffee species. Maragogype is very low on acid and therefore easy on the digestive system, with cleansing qualities. It has a typical smell and flavor, probably created out of crossing with the Liberica coffee plant.
